Go Ottawa Names Executive Director

The GO Ottawa, Inc. Board of Directors has announced Jacqueline Langhals, Ottawa, has been selected as the first Executive Director for the non-profit organization which will lead implementation of the GO Ottawa Strategic Growth Plan adopted in March 2023.  

Langhals brings ten plus years of related experience to the new position and has served on the GO Ottawa strategic plan leadership team since its inception.

Her experience includes sustainable and healthy building design, construction and maintenance, project management, sustainability planning, and business and client relationship strategy. Langhals was one of the country’s first WELL Accredited Professionals, a credential for healthy building design and operations. She has worked on several Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) projects, ranging from single-family residential to a Veteran’s hospital.

Langhals also worked for the State of Ohio, managing implementation of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction’s Strategic Sustainability Plan. These efforts included overseeing the first LEED correctional facility in Ohio, setting up multiple compost facilities through public/private partnerships, managing large Energy Performance Contracts across the state, and implementing strategic energy efficiency initiatives for a building portfolio of 12.3 million square feet. Under her leadership, the state also initiated the design of the first WELL correctional facility in the world. 

Langhals has a bachelor’s degree in architecture, a master’s degree in business administration and holds several professional certifications. She has served on the United States Green Building Council and the Be The Light Campaign. She is a frequent presenter at conferences around the state including Design Columbus, Midwest Regional Sustainability Conference, Greenbuild and more.
